On Thursday, Troy senior softball player Taylor McKinney was selected to the NFCA All-Region Gulf Second-Team.

This is McKinney’s second time being selected All-Region after making First-Team All-Region last year.

“This is a huge honor for Taylor and Troy softball,” head coach Eric Newell said. “She had a career year in her senior year and is definitely worthy of the recognition. We appreciate her commitment to our program and tip our hat to one of the best of all time.”

McKinney finished her Troy career fourth all-time in batting average, second in slugging percentage, fourth in on-base percentage, second in RBIs, third in home runs, 10th in triples, fourth in runs and second in walks.

Coming into the 2025 season, McKinney was ranked as the No. 10 overall second baseman in the country by D1Softball. As a senior, McKinney earned First-Team All-Sun Belt honors, her third All-Conference nod and first First-Team honor. She held a career-high .375 batting average this season with a .750 slugging percentage, .476 on-base percentage, 12 doubles, three triples, 15 home runs, 53 RBIs and 54 runs.
