According to employees, the Chicken Salad Chick location in Troy will close on Saturday. 

The location at Troy Regional Medical Center will also close on Thursday or Friday. 

“I love Chicken Salad Chick! I saw a post about it last night and another on another Facebook page today,” Kathy Hayes Bassett wrote on Facebook. “I called them, and, unfortunately, it is true. She said they might close before Saturday.”

Some Facebook posters wanted Chicken Salad Chick to open in a new, more accessible location. 

“Please open in a New location in Troy,” Donna Hemphill McLendon commented on Facebook. “Being on 231 in a strip of stores and a parking lot that’s difficult to get in and out of makes lunch hour diners less likely to go! Please please please reconsider opening in a new location that is easier for your customers and fans to frequent your eatery!!!”

“I agree,” Sherry DeBray replied. “Location wasn’t the best. Please move it to downtown or next to Starbucks, that area. We love your salads.”

“The parking and getting out of the tiny space they are in is a headache,” Ashley Powell commented. “I hate they are closing, maybe a new spot if that’s possible.”

One poster wondered if the construction on U.S. Highway 231 affected the decision to close. 

“I think this road work is going to kill a lot of 231 businesses,” Sheila Register Blankenship wrote. “It’s so sad. Will miss Chicken Salad Chick.”

Attempts by The Messenger to reach the Chicken Salad Chick franchisee were unsuccessful.
