- Chanda Rigby announced the signing of two to the Class of 2025.
On May 13, Troy University Women’s Basketball added the addition of a transfer and incoming freshman to the 2025 Signing Class.
Park Crossing guard Saniya Jackson committed to Troy last weekend and officially signed with the Trojans on Tuesday. She was the Class 6A Player of the Year as a senior as she led Park Crossing to its first ever state championship.
The 5-foot-8-inch, Montgomery native scored 2,556 career points in high school, the 44th most by a high school player in the country. She also earned All-State honors and averaged 19.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 5.1 steals as a senior.
“We are so proud to have the Alabama 6A Player of the Year join our Trojan family,” Troy Head Coach Chanda Rigby said. “Saniya has led her team to accomplish many firsts, including Park Crossing High’s first state championship. We know she will continue to do amazing things in a Troy uniform.”
Troy also added Georgia Southwestern State transfer forward Detavia Salter. The 6-foot-3-inch Colquitt, Ga., native played high school basketball at Bainbridge High School where she earned All-State honors and Defensive Player of the Year. She averaged 12.6 points, 9.8 rebounds and 3.3 blocks as a junior and 11.4 points
Salter started her college career at Mercer as a freshman. She then transferred to Georgia Southwestern State, starting 16 games as a sophomore and averaging 5.5 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 blocks per game this past season. She had a career game against USC Beaufort this season, with 14 points and nine rebounds. She also blocked five shots twice in 2024-2025.
“Detavia brings a back-to-the-basket presence to our roster that is much needed,” Rigby said. “I have a clear vision for how I believe she will help our program, and I’m ready to get her on campus and start moving her towards that vision.”
Troy’s Class of 2025 now includes Jackson, Salter, Mississippi State transfer Shakirah Edwards, South Alabama transfer Rachel Leggett, Florida-Atlantic transfer Aniya Hubbard, South Sudan freshman Marianah Mapour and Serbian guard Lana Koricanac.
