Goshen, Pike County set for spring football games

Both the Goshen Eagles and Pike County Bulldogs will play their annual spring football game at Bulldog Stadium in Brundidge on Thursday, May 15.
Goshen will kick things off at 5 p.m. against Loachapoka. The Eagles are coming off a stellar 2024 season that saw GHS win eight games and make it to the second round of the playoffs. Since head coach Don Moore took over the program, the Eagles have gone 24-19 with 17 wins in the past two seasons.
Loachapoka is coming a 5-5 season in 2024 and a playoff appearance. The Indians have made the playoffs in each of the last five season, including a 10-1 region championship season in 2023. Goshen and Loachapoka have played just twice in the regular season with LHS taking both matchups in 2006 and 2007.
Pike County will play in game two of the spring matchup with the Bulldogs facing off against Luverne at 7 p.m. Pike County is coming off back-to-back 4-5 seasons, missing out on the playoffs in each of those years. Luverne is coming off a 6-6 season under first year head coach Bobby Hudson. The Tigers have made the playoffs for a remarkable 41 straight seasons.
