UPDATE: North Knox Street shooting victims identified

On Monday, May 12, Troy Police Chief Danny Barron released the names of two victims of a shooting on North Knox Street in Troy on May 7.
The two victims were identified as Dakilia J. Carlisle, 22, and Kentravious D. Smith, 27, both of Troy. TPD received reports of shots fired at approximately 1:13 p.m. on May 7. The shooting occurred on North Knox Street, near Oakwood Cemetery. Officers located two individuals suffering from gunshot wounds upon arrival at the scene. Both victims were transported to Troy Regional Medical Center for treatment. One victim was later life-flighted to a hospital in Montgomery and the other was life-flighted to a hospital in Dothan.
Both individuals remain in critical condition. TPD detectives are actively following up on leads and investigating the shooting and are being assisted by the Pike County Sheriff’s Office and Pike County District Attorney’s Office in the investigation.
Both individuals remain hospitalized as they continue to recover from injuries sustained int he shooting. Barron said that their conditions are improving but are in need of continued thoughts and prayers.
