This past weekend, the Troy women’s basketball team earned a commitment from one of the top girls basketball players in the State of Alabama in Park Crossing’s Saniya Jackson.

Jackson committed to Troy over offers from other schools like Jacksonville State, Garden City, Nicholls, Alabama State, Texas Southern and Tuskegee. She tallied more than 2,330 points during her career at park Crossing and was selected to the All-State team this season along with being named Class 6A Player of the Year.

As a senior, Jackson averaged 19.4 points, 6.1 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 5.1 steals per game. She scored a total of 679 points in 2024-2025, grabbed 214 rebounds, dished 203 assists and earned 179 steals.

Jackson was also an Alabama-Mississippi All-Star this past season along with leading Park Crossing to the school’s first-ever state championship in girls’ basketball. Jackson led her team to the state crown despite fighting through illness prior to the game, even visiting an urgent care doctor the day before the title game. She finished up the state championship game with 21 points, 12 rebounds, five assists and two steals.
