Troy men’s basketball coach Scott Cross announced the signing of former Texas Tech forward Corbin Green from the transfer portal on May 8.

Green is a 6-foot-5-inch, 230-pound Midlothian, Texas, native. Green earned All-Region and District MVP as a senior at Midlothian High School before playing for a year at USAFA Prep School in 2021-2022. Green then began his college career at the Air Force Academy.

As a freshman, Green played in 24 games and started 12. He averaged 6.5 points, 2.8 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.4 blocks per game. As a sophomore, Green played in 12 games and scored 32 points with 33 rebounds and 12 blocks. Green transferred to Texas Tech as a walk-on this past season. At Texas Tech, Green played in nine games and just 13 minutes total.

“We are very excited to have Corbin Green fill our last open roster position,” Cross said, “Corbin is a big, physical, athletic post player that can block shots on one end of the floor and tear the rim down on the other end. I have known Corbin for years, as he used to attend our basketball camps back when he was in middle school.

“We are very excited that he has decided to join our program, and we are confident that he has the character and the talent to help us win another championship here at Troy.”

The reigning Sun Belt Conference Champions were hit hard in the transfer portal after the season, losing starters Tayton Conerway, Myles Rigsby, Marcus Rigsby Jr. and Jackson Fields. So far, Green is the first player the Trojans have added from the transfer portal, but Troy already signed incoming freshmen Emmanuel Clarton, Javen Colbert and Tony Montgomery.
