Brundidge City Council tables renting community centers

The Brundidge City Council met in regular session on Tuesday, My 6 with the mayor and three council members present.
Mayor Isabell Boyd and Council members Margaret Ross, District 3; Byron Gaynor, District 4 and Marilyn Rodgers, District 5 were present. Doug Holland, District 1; and Latisher Hall, District 2, were absent.
The main focus of the Tuesday, meeting was the discussion of violations of the policies relating to the renting of Brundidge Station and Galloway Park Community Center. After discussing the policies, the council tabled the renting of the city’s two community centers until the next meeting.
Councilmember Rodgers moved that the council appoint Linda Faust, city clerk, as the election manager for the August 26 election and the September 23 runoff if necessary due to the fact that the mayor will be a candidate for mayor.
The mayor and council reviewed the list of qualified election officials for the August 26, 2025 election and September 23, 2025 runoff, if necessary. After consideration, Gaynor moved that the council approve the list of officials presented. Ross seconded the motion and, with all voting yea, the motion carried.
Gaynor moved that the council declare a 2015 Ford Taurus as surplus property to be sold on gov.deals. Ross seconded the motion and, with all voting yea, the motion carried.
The Brundidge City Council meets on the first and third Tuesdays of the month at 6 p.m. at Brundidge City Hall. The meetings are open to the public.
