Brundidge Rotarians to host Douglas Botts Memorial Golf Tournament

The Brundidge Rotarians came to their Thursday meeting ready to tee off on the club’s 16th Annual Douglas Botts Memorial Golf Tournament.

Botts was a long-term and dedicated Rotarian and a recipient of Rotary’s Paul Harris Award, Rotary’s highest award. Botts was also a dedicated and contributing member of the City of Brundidge and its people, said Cot Wallace, tournament chairman.

“This will be our club’s 16th Annual Douglas Botts Memorial (two person scramble) Golf Tournament,” Wallace said. “All proceeds will benefit the Brundidge Rotary Club’s Scholar Fund and the community.”

The tournament is set for Friday, June 6 at the Brundidge Country Club.  The entry fee for the “2 Man Best Ball Scramble” is $150 per team. The “scramble” is limited to 18 teams. First place is awarded $300; second place, $200 and third place, $100.

There will be cash awards for closet to the pin on hole number 12 ($50) and on hole 8 ($50) and longest drive on hole 5 ($25).
