Activity around the Rock Building is, once again, generating interest in the historic Works Project Administration (Rock Building) of 1940. The building was constructed with field rocks that were recovered from the red clay fields of Pike County by farmers and other history-minded folks and hauled, often on mule-drawn wagons, to the site in downtown Troy.

The “Rock” Building was the Pike County Activities Building and provided a variety of services for all Pike County residents.

The Pike County Board of Education put the “Rock” up for sale.

Pike Countain Charlie Bundy bought the historic Rock Building with plans for it to, once again, be a central location in Pike County. He is committed to making it happen. Exactly, what, Bundy’s plans is still in question, but “first things come first, and safety is a “first” thing, Bundy said, So, for safety’s sake, water connections and sprinklers are first things. Whatever, plans Charlie Bundy has for the Rock Building, he is dedicated to seeing them through.
