The Davenport family would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the Brundidge community and surrounding areas for the overwhelming outpouring of love, support, and kindness shown during the passing of our beloved, Chief Moses Davenport. Your prayers, words of comfort, flowers, visits, acts of service, and presence during this difficult time have brought us immense strength and reminded us just how deeply Moses touched the lives of so many. Whether you knew him as “Chief,” Deacon Davenport, coach, ‘Mose’, mentor, or simply as a friend, your tributes and shared memories have been a beautiful reflection of his life – grounded in service, compassion, and unwavering dedication to others.
Moses proudly served his community for over six decades. He believed in justice, unity, and the power of kindness. Your contributions reflected that same spirit that was modeled by Moses. Your support meant more to us than words can express.
We are especially grateful to fellow law enforcement agencies, local churches, the 900th Maintenance Company Soldiers, civic groups, Cattleman’s Park, The Breakfast Club, Michelle Richards, Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church No. 2, Jerry Renolds, Brundidge Councilwomen, Margaret Ross, Dr. Timothy Lee and every individual who honored his memory. Your presence was not only a tribute to his legacy, but a testament to the strong bonds he helped build.
As we continue to grieve and celebrate his remarkable life, please know that each gesture, big or small, touched our hearts deeply. Thank you for standing with us. We will forever be grateful.
May he rest in peace. His service is complete. His watch has ended. We will take it from here.
With love and appreciation,
The Family of
Chief Moses Davenport
