The Birmingham Stallions (4-2) bounced back to beat the San Antonio Brahmas (1-5) by a score of 26-3 at home on Sunday.

It was all Birmingham this week, out-gaining San Antonio 313 yards to 178 and holding the Brahmas to just 24 yards rushing. The Stallion defense also held San Antonio to 0-for-10 on third downs and 0-for-1 on fourth downs, along with forcing two turnovers.

Birmingham got the scoring started with a 4-yard touchdown run from Ricky Person Jr. to put Birmingham up 6-0 with 2:12 left in the first quarter after a failed PAT. It was just the second rushing touchdown of the season for the Stallions.

Case Cookus, the third quarterback Birmingham has used this season due to injuries, then threw a 43-yard touchdown pass to Amari Rodgers to extend the lead to 12-0 with 21 seconds left in the first half. The 2-point try was no good. San Antonio managed to get into scoring position with just three seconds remaining in the half and converted a 26-yard field goal to cut the lead to 12-3 at halftime.

Birmingham added a 49-yard field goal and 50-yard field goal in the third quarter to take an 18-3 lead into the final period. In the fourth, Cookus threw a 5-yard touchdown pass to tight end Jace Sternberger. A two-point conversion gave the Stallions the 26-3 win.

Cookus completed 16-of-23 passes for 166 yards and two touchdowns, while Person rushed for 32 yards and a score on nine carries. Rodgers caught three passes fro 55 yards and a touchdown, while Cade Johnson caught five passes for 61 yards and Deon Cain added two catches for 46 yards.

Chapelle Russell led Birmingham with five tackles and a tackle-for-loss, while Marvin Wilson added four tackles and Kyahva Tezino recorded four tackles and a tackle-for-loss. Carlos Davis recorded three stops, a tackle-for-loss and a sack, while Ronnie Perkins earned two sacks. Steven Gilmore intercepted a pass and Tae Crowder recovered a fumble.
