Resurfacing project ongoing on SR-87

A resurfacing project on State Route-87, between Spring Hill in Pike County and Elba in Coffee County, is ongoing. 

This project travels from Pea Creek on SR-87 all the way to the Pike County line, through Jack. The project includes micro-milling, resurfacing, bridge maintenance and traffic striping. The project is expected to be completed in the Fall of 2025. 

Lane closures and reduced speed limits are projected to continue through the work on SR-87. The Alabama Department of Transportation (ALDOT) urges drivers to plan accordingly and remain cautious of workers and equipment in the work zone. 

The resurfacing project is a $3.5 million project awarded to APAC-Alabama, Inc., from Birmingham, which had the lowest pid.
