Jim Whaley Tires celebrated the opening of its second Troy location with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Thursday morning.

The ribbon cutting was hosted by the Pike County Chamber of Commerce. Jim Whaley Tires Vice President of Operations Brandon Outlaw said the South Brundidge Street location officially opened in October and was a great addition for the company.

“Troy has been a really great location for us,” Outlaw said. “This store is in a great location and is in a high traffic area. We specialize in tires and suspension, but we can perform all car maintenance and can help people with anything that involves servicing or maintenance.”

Store manager Paxton McCoy said business for Jim Whaley Tires on South Brundidge Street had been good since opening.

“With our location, our customers are mostly commercial and college students,” McCoy said. “We have a lot of businesses in this area and we’re close to [Troy University]. But, we can take care of any customer. Each month, our business has grown. So, we’re getting our name out there and we want people to know we’re here.”

McCoy said Jim Whaley Tires can take care of servicing and maintenance. He said in the event of roadside emergencies, Jim Whaley will work with a towing company to get a customer’s vehicle into the shop for a repair.

Jim Whaley Tires on South Brundidge Street is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and from 7:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. To book an appointment, or in case of a roadside emergency, call 334-304-4401.
