On April 30, Troy Regional Medical Center announced that it has received a 2025 Women’s Choice Award as the best hospital for emergency care from the Women’s Choice Award organization.

Troy Regional was among the top 1 percent of 4,675 hospitals. The Women’s Choice Award identifies America’s best hospitals and healthcare facilities across the nation, based on criteria that includes relevant clinical performance, patient satisfaction and appropriate accreditation to help women make smart healthcare choices.

The Women’s Choice Award identifies facilities that have demonstrated the highest level of quality care to their patients, with a special focus on the female experience. It uses the most publicly available clinical data from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the Hospital Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems (HCAHPS) patient satisfaction survey results, relevant accreditation information from appropriate services and the American Hospital Directory.

“We are so proud to receive this award,” said Troy Regional CEO Rick Smith. “We frequently receive high ratings and positive reviews and comments from our patients who recognize that the quality of care in our Emergency Department has continued to improve.”

Troy Regional was also recently recognized as a Top 100 Rural and Community Hospital in the country and the only one in Alabama to receive the distinction, along with being just one of eight hospitals in the state to receive a 5-star rating for cleanliness by Becker’s Hospital Review.
