Troy gears up for busy week of activities

The City of Troy is the happening place to be at this time of the year.
Troy is wrapping yet another outstanding and well-attended TroyFest on Saturday and Sunday in downtown Troy.
The Johnson Center for the Arts had a busy Saturday with visitors viewing the 2025 Student Art Exhibit in the lowery gallery and “Dresses” in the main gallery.
And, the International Art Center was also a-buzz with activities for the kids and families as well.
Now, it’s time for the highly-anticipated Alabama Community Band Concert at 7 p.m. Monday, May 5 at the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of Troy University. The concert is free and open to the public.
The Alabama Community Band Concert is, yet, another big event in Troy.
And, for icing on the cake, so to speak, the Pioneer Museum of Alabama will host “Thunder on the Three Notch” on Friday and Saturday, May 2 and May 3.
The weekend evert will feature two days of living history with skilled artisans who bring folk arts and crafts to life with demonstrations and a re-enactment of two battles that were fought at Hobdy’s Bridge in Pike County in February and March 1837.
Admission is charged.
