Pike Lib’s Luke Barrron commits to University of Mobile

This past weekend, Pike Liberal Arts senior baseball player Luke Barron announced his commitment to play college baseball at the University of Mobile.
Barron and the Pike Patriots will head to Tuscaloosa this week to compete in the quarterfinals of the Class 2A State Playoffs against Tuscaloosa Academy. During the playoffs this season, Barron boasts a .500 batting average with four doubles, a home run, eight RBIs and one run in just four games. He’s also pitched a total of nine innings, giving up just five total hits and one earned run with seven strikeouts.
Barron committed to Mobile as a pitcher. He earned All-Messenger and All-State honors last season as a utility. He boasted a .474 batting average with six doubles, one triple, one homer, 30 RBIs and 22 runs as a junior. He also held a 2.154 ERA with 59 strikeouts in 39 innings in 2024. He was also selected as an AHSAA North-South All-Star heading into his senior season.
