Alabama gas price average falls slightly

The national average price of regular gasoline dropped a penny since last Monday, while the state average in Alabama climbed a penny.
According to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the national average on Monday was $3.14 per gallon, down from $3.15 last Monday. In Alabama, the average price for regular gas remained well below the national average at $2.77 per gallon, but up 1-cent since last Monday’s $2.76 average for the state.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.64 to a high of $2.79. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.60 to $2.69; Luverne reported at $2.68, Union Springs reported at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.64 to $2.76; Montgomery ranged from $2.52 to $2.63.
Last Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.71 to a high of $2.81. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.68 to $2.83; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported at $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.49 to $2.59; Montgomery ranged from $2.52 to $2.63.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.76. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.67; Tennessee, $2.77; Georgia, $2.91 and Florida, $3.03.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
