TroyFest off to great start

An upbeat crowd strolled through downtown Troy on Saturday morning.

Festival goers were on hand for the 24th annual TroyFest Fine Arts and Crafts Show. The festival began at 9 a.m. and will continue through 5 p.m. this afternoon. On Sunday, the festival grounds will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

“We’ve had really good weather today,” TroyFest Chairman Rob Drinkard said. “We’ve had a lot of people come out to spend the day in downtown Troy.

“We’ll be open through five today and invite people to come out and shop, eat and enjoy all that TroyFest has to offer.”

Drinkard said TroyFest had more than 100 vendors this year, so there was something for everyone.

Randy Hinkle, who paints diagonal landscapes, said he was enjoying his time at TroyFest.

“I’ve been doing this for a long time and been to a lot of festivals,” Hinkle said. “The people here are the nicest people I have ever seen at a festival. They’ll stop and talk to you and are really interested in your art.”

Drinkard said there was plenty of entertainment this afternoon and on Sunday as well.
