Playoff time is here and the local high school softball teams in the area will begin play in area tournaments this week and next week. 

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots head into the postseason as regular season Class 2A, Area 4 Champions and will host the Area 4 Tournament beginning April 28. Pike Lib will welcome Goshen, Zion Chapel and Luverne to campus for the double-elimination tournament. 

The first round will see Pike Lib play Goshen at noon on April 28 and Zion Chapel face Luverne at 2 p.m.. The losing teams will play at 6 p.m. Games continue on April 29, beginning at 3 p.m. 

Pike County heads to Opp for the Class 4A, Area 4 Tournament on April 25. Pike County plays Straughn in the first round on April 25 at 3 p.m. and Opp plays New Brockton at 1 p.m. The losing sides play at 5 p.m. The double-elimination tournament continues on April 28 at 1 p.m.

Charles Henderson travels to Andalusia for the Class 5A, Area 3 Tournament at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 25. Andalusia plays the winner of that game at 1 p.m. and the loser will play the loser of the game against Andalusia at 3 p.m. The tournament continues at 5 p.m. 

Ariton heads to Skipperville for the Class 2A, Area 3 Tournament on April 28. Ariton will play Houston County at 11:30 a.m. and GW Long plays Abbeville at 10 a.m. The losing teams play at 1 p.m. and the winning teams play at 2:30 p.m. The double-elimination tournament will continue on until a winner is crowned that same day. 

Winners and runner-ups move on to the Regional Round of the State Softball Tournament.
