Alabama below national average for gas prices

The national average price of regular gasoline fell 3-cents per gallon over the last week. 

According to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the national average on Monday was $3.15 per gallon, down from $3.18 last Monday. In Alabama, the average price for regular gas was well below the national average at $2.76 per gallon, down 6-cents from last Monday’s $2.80 average for the state. 

On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.71 to a high of $2.81. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.68 to $2.83; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported in at $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.64 to $2.76; Montgomery ranged from $2.52 to $2.63.

Last Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.73 to a high of $2.79. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.60 to $2.81; Luverne, $2.88 to $2.89, Union Springs reported in at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.49 to $2.63; Montgomery ranged from $2.40 to $2.59.

Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.76. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.68; Tennessee, $2.70; Georgia, $2.92 and Florida, $2.99.

The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
