Green Bay Packers assistant coach Derrick Ansley, a Troy University graduate, is hosting his Third Annual Driven Athletes You Football Camp on June 28 in Tallassee.

Ansley is a native of Tallassee, where he was an All-State athlete before signing with Troy. He finished his Trojan career tied for the second-most interceptions in school history. In 2003, Ansley intercepted nine passes, which ranked third in the country and earned him All-Sun Belt honors. He was the first Trojan to earn All-Conference after Troy moved to the Sun Belt.

Ansley was an All-Sun Belt defensive back at Troy.

Following a stellar collegiate career, Ansley moved into coaching as a defensive backs coach at Huntingdon College in Montgomery from 2005 until 2009. He went on to become one of the most decorated assistant coaches in college football during the 2010s.

Ansley served as defensive backs coach at Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama, leading the Crimson Tide defensive backfield during their 2017 National Championship run. Ansley moved to the NFL in 2018 as a defensive backs coach with the Oakland Raiders before being named defensive coordinator at Tennessee in 2019.

Ansley made his return to the NFL as a defensive backs coach with the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 and 2022 and was the defensive coordinator with the Chargers in 2023. Ansley was named defensive passing game coordinator with the Packers in 2024, a position he continues to hold.

During his coaching career, Ansley has coached nearly two dozen NFL Draft Picks, including six first round picks. His youth football camp is free for all youth athletes, aged five to 14, in the State of Alabama. The camp will take place June 28 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. T-Shirts, lunch, hydration, training and gift bags will all be free for those that sign up.

The camp will take place at J.E. “Hot” O’Brien Stadium in Tallassee. To register a child, visit here.
