Brundidge municipal election qualifying begins June 10

This summer will be election season in Brundidge.
On Tuesday, June 10, Brundidge Mayor Isabell Boyd will give a notice of election in Brundidge that the positions of mayor and all council districts are up for election. Candidates interested in running for mayor or the Brundidge City Council can begin qualifying on June 10. The last day to qualify will be Tuesday, June 24 at 5 p.m. Potential candidates must file a statement of candidacy with the city of Brundidge and pay a $50 application fee. After filing the statement and paying the fee, candidates will be given a candidate package that includes all necessary information for Brundidge municipal elections.
The Brundidge Municipal Election will be held on Tuesday, Aug. 26, with a runoff election, if necessary, held on Tuesday, Sept. 30. Candidates will take office on Nov. 30.
In addition, Brundidge had to redraw its districts after the 2020 Census. All registered voters will be notified by postcard to let them know which district they will vote in during city elections.
