The Independent Community Bankers of America (ICBA) has announced that Troy Bank and Trust Executive Vice-President and Chief Administrative Officer John Ramage, has been elected to serve on ICBA’s Legislative Issues Committee.
The ICBA’s focus is ensuring community banks and its customers continue to flourish.
“Community banks are the heartbeat of Main Street, driving local economies and forging lasting relationships with consumers and small businesses,” said Ramage. “As a proud fifth generation community banker, I’m honored to contribute to ICBA’s mission, ensuring that community banks have a strong voice in policy discussions and access to education and innovative solutions that strengthen their ability to serve local communities.”
In his role, Ramage will help shape and promote ICBA’s policy positions and programming, engage in grassroots advocacy efforts in Alabama and serve as a bridge between local community banks and ICBA leadership in Washington, D.C.
“John Ramage has a deep-rooted passion for legislative actions that help community banks compete on a level playing field,” Troy Bank & Trust Chief Operating Officer and Executive Vice President Bo Coppage said. “His unwavering dedication to building up our community and strengthening the foundation of banking is inspiring. Ramage will also continue to serve as Alabama’s lone representative on the ICBA Federal Delegate Board, whose mission is to evaluate and address federal legislation, regulations, court rulings, tax, agriculture/rural America and lending issues. The Federal Delegate Board shall recommend legislative and regulatory policy positions to the Executive Committee and Board of Directors. Ramage will also continue to serve on the ICBA Check Fraud Task Force as he has since its inception.
