Alabama below national average for gas prices

The national average price of regular gasoline fell 7-cents per gallon over the last week.
According to the AAA Daily Fuel Gauge Report, the national average on Monday was $3.18 per gallon, down from $3.25 last Monday. In Alabama, the average price for regular gas was well below the national average at $2.80 per gallon, down 6-cents from last Monday’s $2.86 average for the state.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.73 to a high of $2.79. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.68 to $2.83; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported in at $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.64 to $2.76; Montgomery ranged from $2.52 to $2.63.
Last Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.74 to a high of $2.83. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.74 to $2.79; Luverne had one station reporting at $2.89, Union Springs reported in at $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.64 to $2.76; Montgomery ranged from $2.51 to $2.63.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.88. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.71; Tennessee, $2.72; Georgia, $2.97 and Florida, $3.09.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
