Morgan Drinkard talked with the Troy Rotary Club on April 8 about TroyFest 2025.

Drinkard said TroyFest was originally founded as the Jean Lake Arts Festival at what was then the Pike Pioneer Museum. Drinkard said about 20 years ago, the Jean Lake Arts Festival was moved to downtown Troy and rebranded as the TroyFest Fine Arts and Crafts Festival.

“Jean Lake was an incredible folk artist from Pike County,” Drinkard said. “By definition, folk artist means untrained and it’s a very specific style. And many of the artists that contributed at the Jean Lake Festival practiced this style of art. Really, this festival became known as a folk art festival. For almost 20 years, we’ve been on the downtown square as the TroyFest Fine Arts and Craft Festival. And, one of the priorities of the festival is to hold true to the artists categories and focus on the arts. TroyFest is a festival for the arts.”

Drinkard said TroyFest is a juried art show and all participating artists are selected by a jury. She said the jury tried to select a wide range of artists from sculpture, pottery, painting, jewelry, decorative crafts, traditional crafts, glass work and more.

Drinkard said there will also be a full entertainment line-up as well as food vendors and much more.

TroyFest will be from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on April 26 and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on April 27. For more information, visit troyfestarts.com.
