The long lonesome sound of bluegrass music will be heard in the sleepy little community of Henderson this weekend

The Henderson Bluegrass Festival is held annually in memory of and love for “Ol’ Rex” Locklar, who got the bluegrass festival started and kept it going for 45 years.

A long stretch of the Henderson Highway is named in memory of Locklar.

The 2025 Henderson Bluegrass Festival will be Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

There will be no charge to the festival. However, there will be a small hookup fee for campers.

Music will be played throughout the grounds during the day and in the music pavilion at dusk and dark.

Everyone is invited to the community the bluegrass grows.

The festival’s motto, is “If you can’t pick ’n sing, just grin.”
