April is the Annual Membership Drive for Friends of the Troy Public Library. All those who enjoy reading are encouraged to renew their memberships or become a Friends member, said Bonnie Souders, Friends of the Library president.

“Membership pledges will aid and encourage activities that promote the Troy Public Library, including the much-loved summer reading program,” Friends president said.

“Friends recently donated $25,000 to the Children’s Department of the Troy Public Library to help fund its activities.”

Friends’ memberships support its organization through donations of books, DVDs, CDs, LPs and puzzles.

“Donations and memberships are tax deductible and in-kind donations are accepted daily at the Friends of the Library Book Store,” Souders said. “Items are priced from 50 cents to three dollars. In-kind donations are accepted daily at the Book Store.

“The Friends of the Library staff is always ready to assist patrons with their needs. Friends also welcome volunteers for weekly shifts at the Bookstore.”
