- Huck Treadwell Pike County Salvation Army Director Donna Kidd fills an ‘empty bowl’ with soup during the annual Empty Bowls fundraiser.
The 16th Annual Empty Bowls Luncheon was held Friday at Bush Baptist Church Family Life Center. And, as in the years before, those who were there, came with giving hearts, said Donna Kidd, director of the Pike County Salvation Army in Troy.
“Doing the most good,” is the motto of the Salvation Army and “Heart to God and Hand to Man” is the road and the way.
Kidd expressed appreciation to all those who worked together to make Empty Bowls 2025 a success.
“Empty Bowls benefits the Pike County Salvation Army Food Bank and Social Services,” Kidd said. “Those who share their blessings with those in need are blessed for so doing. Today, those who came and those who supported the 16th Annual Empty Bowls luncheon in many different ways have touched many lives with their giving and loving hearts.”
“Heart to God; Hand to Man” is the continuing theme of the 16th annual Empty Bowls Luncheon in Pike County.
“We have so many who work together to help fill Empty Bowls in times of need throughout our country and beyond,” Kidd said. “We have so many to thank. It would not be possible to thank them all but, at the Pike County Salvation Army, we know that God blesses those who care for others. Here in Pike County people care for others and it shows in many ways each year at the Empty Bowls luncheon. Thank you all.”
