On April 2, the Troy City Schools Board of Education unanimously approved a number of personnel actions. 

Among those personnel actions was the acceptance of the retirement of longtime Troy Elementary School Principal Teresa Sims after nearly four decades with the school system. Sims has been with Troy City Schools since 1987 and has been the principal at TES since 2013. Sims’ retirement is effective June 30. 

Also retiring is Charles Henderson Middle School Assistant Principal Dr. Kelly Roberts. Roberts has also been an educator for more than 30 years. Roberts’ retirement is effective June 2. 

Other personnel actions are listed below.

Resignations:

Anna Kate Church, special education teacher, Troy Elementary School (effective May 23); 

Aaron Brown, principal, Charles Henderson Middle School (effective May 22); 

Retirements: 

Teresa Sims, principal, Troy Elementary School (effective June 30); 

Dr. Kelly Roberts, assistant principal, Charles Henderson Middle School (effective June 2); 

Employment: 

Kyle Smith, volunteer E-Sports coach, Charles Henderson High School (effective April 3); and

Christy Little, math teacher, Charles Henderson High School (effective July 31).
