Big dreams of affordable fashion

Nikki Williams had a dream to bring affordable fashion to working class women in Pike County.

She opened Small Town, Big Dreams Boutique in Brundidge about a year ago, and in March, she expanded to Troy.

“I wanted people to have a choice in affordable clothing,” Williams said. “We’re a small store. We’re not Walmart or a big box store. We want people to come in, shop and try on our clothes. We want to provide quality clothing at affordable prices so people shop local and not online.”

Williams said her boutique focuses on clothing for women, but also has a line of children’s clothes for both boys and girls.

“We cater more to the working class woman,” Williams said. “Styles change constantly and we try to focus on what people wear to work everyday and maybe to church on Sunday.”

Since opening last month, Williams said business has been doing well and she’s focusing on promoting her brand on social media, particularly Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

“We’re really focusing on social media to get word out that we’re open in Troy,” Williams  said. “In Brudidge, it took us about four or five months to really get going. It’s going well in Troy, we have a lot of people come in each day that didn’t know we were here. There are a lot of people on the 231 everyday and we want more customers to stop by, so we’re working hard to get the work out that we’re open in Troy.”

Small Town, Big Dreams Boutique is located at 814A U.S. Highway 231 North, next to Don Walker’s Western Wear. Business hours are Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
