Gas prices continue to rise during spring travel

Gas prices climbed higher in the past week, largely due to a spike in demand from spring break travel.
Nationally, the price of regular gasoline jumped to $3.16 per gallon on average. In Alabama, the average price was $2.77, up 3-cents from last Monday.
On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.74 to a high of $2.83. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.74 to $2.79; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported in at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.48 to $2.69; Montgomery ranged from $2.51 to $2.63.
Last Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.75 to a high of $2.83. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.68 to $2.75; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported in at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.59 to $2.67; Montgomery ranged from $2.57 to $2.68.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.77. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.68; Tennessee, $2.80; Georgia, $2.94 and Florida, $3.09.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
