The City of Brundidge will have to consult its attorney before deciding the next step to take concerning the city’s police chief.
Brundidge Police Chief Sam Green was suspended with pay after being one of three people indicted in federal court for an alleged conspiracy to fraudulently receive funds through the Emergency Rental Assistance Program on March 13. The City of Brundidge notified Green by letter he had 10 days to request a due process hearing. The deadline for a response from Green was Thursday at 5 p.m. Brundidge City Manager Willie Wright said Green did not respond to the letter by the deadline.
Wright said he will consult with the city attorney and the next step is to bring the matter to the Brundidge City Council. The council’s next meeting is Tuesday, April 1, at 6:30 p.m.
