Troy Police Chief Danny Barron said it took most of the day to clean an overturned tanker from the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 231.

Barron said around 7 a.m., a transfer truck overturned in the southbound lane of U.S. Highway 231 in front of iGO Insurance and Serta. Barron said the tanker was carrying vegetable oil and posed no threat to the public. A second tanker was called in and the vegetable oil was transferred to the second tanker.

Barron said after the transfer was complete, the accident site was able to be cleared around 2:15 p.m.

Barron said there were no injuries and the accident remained under investigation.
