Thursday night is the Troy Arts Counsel’s second event of 2025 at the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of Troy University.

“And it’s a not-to-be-missed performance, said Maggie Hammond, TAC president.

“They Call Me Q” is a one-woman play written and performed by Qurrat Ann Kadwani.

General admission tickets are $10 and can be purchased at the door. Students of all ages will be admitted free.

Hammond said Kadwani has been featured on Fox News as a “Woman Who Shapes Our Future.” She has received many awards for her performances and is the first South Asian female to have a solo play produced Off Broadway, which ran for seven months in 2014. To date, “They Call Me Q” has been performed more than 200 times in 35 states.

Hammond said Broadway World wrote, “In some rare cases, the decision to share tales of one’s past can give the audience a theatrical experience that it will be remembered far after the last show. They Call Me Q is one of those shows.”

Hammond said “They Call me Q” will be immediately appreciated and long remembered by those in attendance.

“The Troy Arts Council invites and encourages all ages to take advantage of the opportunity to experience theater at its best with this special performance of “They Call Me Q.”
