Fresh off an NCAA Tournament appearance, Troy junior forward Jackson Fields will enter the transfer portal.

Fields confirmed to The Messenger on Monday his decision to enter the transfer portal.

“I want to thank God for putting me in this position, without him none of this would be possible,” Fields told The Messenger. “I want to say, ‘Thank you,’ to Troy University, my coaches, teammates and the entire Trojan family for an incredible three years. My time here has been filled with unforgettable moments, lifelong friendships and accomplishments that will stay with me forever.”

The 6-foot-8-inch Missouri City, Texas, native, averaged 7.9 points and 4.8 rebounds this season. He also blocked 26 shots. During the season, Fields scored a career-high 21 points in the Sun Belt Tournament Semifinal win over James Madison. He also earned a double-double this season.

For his career, Fields averaged six points and 3.9 rebounds per game with 60 career starts. Fields was a Defensive Player of the Year for his district as a star player at Lawrence E. Elkins High School in Texas. He also held multiple Division I football offers as a wide receiver coming out of high school.

Fields will have one year of eligibility left.
