National gas price average rises 5-cents since last week

The national average price of regular gasoline climbed 5-cents this week to $3.12. 

In Alabama, the price rose only by a penny, from $2.73 to $2.74.

On Monday, GasBuddy.com reported prices in Troy ranging from a low of $2.75 to a high of $2.83. Prices in surrounding towns were: Ozark, $2.68 to $2.75; Luverne had no reported prices, Union Springs reported in at $2.79; Dothan ranged from $2.48 to $2.69; Montgomery ranged from $2.51 to $2.63.

Last week, prices in Troy ranged from $2.69 to $2.79 per gallon. Prices reported in surrounding cities included: Ozark, $2.62 to $2.68; Luverne, $2.78 to $2.79; Union Springs, $2.79; Dothan, $2.48 to $2.66; Montgomery, $2.45 to $2.54. 

Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.74. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.66; Tennessee, $2.70; Georgia, $2.94 and Florida, $2.95.

The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
