The Brundidge Historical Society held open house at the We Piddle Around Theater in Brundidge Sunday afternoon.

Jonny Garrett, BHS president, said the open house was an opportunity for those who have an interest in community theater or in the historical organization to learn more about the BHS and the events it sponsors throughout the year. A large number of guests were seeing the We Piddle Around Theater for the first time.

“Just about every time that anyone comes inside the theater, they are amazed at what has been done with the former Brundidge City Hall that was destroyed by fire 10 years before the city approved the building for a community theater.

A guest asked how is it possible to put the We Piddle Around Theater into words. Is it possible?

Members of the BHS said, said years ago, nationally acclaimed storyteller, Andy Offutt Irwin, perhaps, described the theater best, “It’s what the Cracker Barrel tries to be.”

The Brundidge Historical Society meets at 6:30 p.m. on the first Thursday of the month at Brundidge Methodist Church. All who are interested in local history and/or community theater are invited and encouraged to come.
