National gas price average still tops $3

The national average for a price of regular gasoline remained above $3 this week at $3.07.
The average price dropped 2-cents nationally, but crept up a penny from $2.72 in Alabama to an average of $2.73 per gallon.
On Monday, Citgo in Troy was reported on gasbuddy.com with a citywide low of $2.69. Prices reported for other stations ranged from $2.76 to $2.79 per gallon.
Prices reported in surrounding cities included: Ozark, $2.62 to $2.68; Luverne, $2.78 to $2.79; Union Springs, $2.79; Dothan, $2.48 to $2.66; Montgomery, $2.45 to $2.54.
Prices in surrounding areas as reported via gasbuddy.com last Monday: Ozark $2.62 to $2.75; Luverne had no reported prices; Union Springs fell 10-cents to $2.79; Montgomery ranged from $2.44 to $2.54 and Dothan ranged from $2.39 to $2.56.
Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.72. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.63; Tennessee, $2.70; Georgia, $2.89 and Florida, $3.09.
The highest recorded average price per gallon for regular in Alabama was $4.63 on June 14, 2022.
