Showing appreciation to America’s veterans can never be adequately expressed.

However, Pike County Veterans Officer Randy Ross said Americans should always remember the dedication, commitment of our veterans and the sacrifices that have been made to keep America the home of the free.”

On Thursday morning, Ross, Dale County VSO Robby Ray and Assistant VSO Roy Howell joined Ross to show appreciation to the veterans at Serene Manor in Brundidge for their service.

“Each office is here to assist our veterans in any to get the benefits they deserve,” Ross said. “We can never say ‘thank you” enough times to express the appreciation owed to our veterans.”

Veterans Terrence Odonel, Dallas Palmer, Tyler Weeks, Roscoe Todd and Richard Hale joined the other veterans in expressing their appreciation for the service.

“For us, serving our country was not a sacrifice,” Hale said. “It was a way to express our appreciation for the opportunity to serve.”

Weeks agreed that serving his country was the most rewarding thing he had done.

The veterans agreed that America is the greatest country in the world and veterans now serving and those who will serve have been a huge reason why.

Ross thanked the veterans for their service.

“When an individual volunteers to serve his or her country, they understand the sacrifices that go along with service,” Ross said. “These veterans have made a positive difference in the American way of life today and far beyond. We thank them for their service and for their continuing love of our country.”

Ross reminded the veterans that the Veterans Affairs Office in Troy is there for them and will assist them in any way to get the benefits they deserve.

“We are there for you…always.”
