Pike Lib excels Regional Archery Tournament

Pike Liberal Arts School excelled at the Pike Regional Archery Tournament at the Troy SportsPlex on March 12.

The Pike Lib Archery team claimed first overall in the High School Division.

Both the Pike Lib High School and Middle School Archery Teams took first place in their divisions. The PLAS Elementary Archery Team also took second place behind Highlands Elementary from Dothan.

Pike’s Reagan Warren, Carley Henderson and Alaina Owings took first, second and third place in the high school girl’s division, while Shawn Alexander claimed the silver in the boys high school division.

Mary Allen Pennington, Lexie Hatten and Addison Copeland also finished first, second and third in the girls’ middle school division, while Witt Cole and Stinson Paul finished second and third in the boys division. Pike sixth grader Mary Allen Pennington led all Patriot archers with a score of 276 out of a possible 300 points.

The middle school team also took first place.

James Johnson and Alberto Martinez took first and third place in the elementary division.

Also, in the 3-D Archery Tournament, Pennington claimed the gold in the Middle School Division, while Reagan Warren and Carly Henderson finished first and second in the high school division.

The Pike Lib Middle School Archery Team is currently ranked 12th overall in the State of Alabama, while the elementary team is ranked 15th and the high school team is ranked 29th.

Regional tournaments will conclude this week and teams across the state will be informed on March 17 if they have qualified for the state tournament, which will take place in Montgomery in April.

The elementary team came in second place.
