Gas prices fall slightly across the state

Alabama’s average price for regular gas is 37-cents less than the national average. 

According to AAA Alabama, the average price per gallon for regular gasoline was $3.09 nationally and for the average in Alabama was $2.72. 

Again this week, reported prices in Troy remained higher than the state average. Gasbuddy.com’s price tracker had seven gas stations in Troy with reported prices on Monday. Prices ranged from $2.76 at Citgo to the high of $2.86 at Marathon. 

Prices in surrounding areas as reported Monday, Ozark $2.62 to $2.75; Luverne had no reported prices; Union Springs fell 10-cents to $2.79; Montgomery ranged from $2.44 to $2.54 and Dothan ranged from $2.39 to $2.56/

Last week, reported prices on GasBuddy.com in Troy ranged from$2.78 to $2.84; in Ozark prices ranged from $2.69 to $2.79; Luverne $2.85; Union Springs were $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.54 to $2.66; and Montgomery ranged from $2.42 to $2.59.

Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.78. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.62; Tennessee, $2.68; Georgia, $2.90 and Florida, $3.07.
