High School Softball: Barron’s no-hitter leads Pike Lib over Goshen

The Pike Liberal Arts Lady Patriots (3-6) earned a 15-0 shutout win over the Goshen Lady Eagles at home on Thursday, guided by a shortened no-hitter from pitcher Alissa Barron.
In just three innings of play, Barron struck out six batters, while giving up no hits or runs on the afternoon. She also scored a run on the offensive side.
Camryn Brown went 2-for-2 at the plate for Pike with a double, one RBI and two runs, while Haylie Brown went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and three runs. Shelly Stephens, Sarah Strickland and CK Smith scored two runs each. Julianne Meyer, Madison Nelson and Mary Clark Brown scored one run.
Goshen committed two defensive errors on the day. Kenna Senn pitched two and 1/3 innings.
The Pike County Lady Bulldogs (1-12) also fell to Opp on Thursday. Hailey Griffin went 1-for-2 at the plate with a run, while Leah Dixon earned one hit and stole a base. Taylor Trawick pitched four and 1/3 innings and struck out four batters, while giving up nine hits and five earned runs.
For Opp, Taylor Adams went 3-for-3 at the plate with a home run, two RBIs and one run. Bradleigh Lanier pitched five innings and gave up two hits and no earned runs with eight strikeouts.
