Charles Henderson splits soccer matches with Eufaula; JV teams excel at Wiregrass Classic

The Charles Henderson boys and girls soccer teams split matches with Eufaula onMarch 4.
The boys team lost 2-0. Jordan Atwell led the Trojans with 15 saves at goalkeeper. The boys will host host Headland on Thursday at 5:30 p.m.
The girls team topped Eufaula with a 7-1 win. Arahy Arellano led CHHS with four goals, while Reese Garrett earned two goals. Sinai Sanchez also earned one goal. Emma Neff tallied two saves in the goal, while Kaleyah Blaire earned five saves.
The Lady Trojans will travel to New Brockton on Friday for a match at 5:30 p.m.
The junior varsity boys finished runner-up at the Wiregrass Classic in Dothan this past weekend, as well. The JV Trojans finished 2-0-1 in the tournament with a 3-2 win over Providence Christian, 1-1 time with Class 7A Smiths Station and 1-0 win over Houston Academy.
While CHHS and Smiths Station finished tied for first place in record, Smiths Station earned the tournament win due to scoring more total goals during the weekend.
The JV girls also went 3-0 at the Wiregrass Classic to win the tournament championship. The JV girls beat Houston Academy 2-1, Ariton 4-0 and Class 7A Enterprise by a score of 3-2.
The girls and boys will both play at Ariton on Saturday. The JV girls will play at 8 a.m. followed by the varsity girls at 9:30 a.m. with the boys JV playing at 11 a.m. and the boys varsity playing at 12:30 p.m.
