Troy Football Hall of Famer Ted Clem named president of Pike County Economic Development Corporation

- Troy Hall of Famer Ted Clem is the next president of the PCEDC.
On March 3, the Pike County Economic Development Corporation (PCEDC) announced the appointment of Ted Clem as its next President.
Clem’s appointment as President of the PCEDC will become effective April 1.
“After a nationwide search to find the person that would be best to lead this organization, our board unanimously chose Ted Clem,” PCEDC Board of Directors member John Ramage, Chairman of PCEDC said. “Ted is committed to growing Pike County and attracting new industries to our area”
Clem has spent the past decade as the Senior Project Manager at the Alabama Department of Commerce, where he was integral in the recruitment of new industries to the state. During his tenure with the agency, Alabama benefited from the creation of 60,000 new jobs and capital investments exceeding $800 million.
Clem is no stranger to Pike County as he is a future Troy Athletics Hall of Famer and one of the most prolific kickers in Troy Football history. Clem is most known for his game-winning 50-yard field goal in the 1984 Division II National Championship, but he also holds a number of Troy Football records.
Clem holds the record for single-game points, single season PAT percentage, career PATs, career points, field goal attempts and consecutive PATs made. He’s also third in scoring in a season, second in PATs made in a season and second in career field goals made. Clem is going to be inducted into the Troy Athletics Hall of Fame this fall.
“I am excited to return to Pike County to join the team at PCEDC and work with a strong slate of elected officials and business leaders to help continue the growth this area has enjoyed,” Clem explained. “Coming home is always a good feeling. My wife and I could not be more excited.”
PCEDC was founded in 2002 and is a non-profit organization that focused on improving the quality fo life in Pike County, by working with existing industry and recruiting new businesses to create more jobs for the area. PCEDC works with a variety of industrial partners, the Pike County Commission, City of Troy, City of Brundidge and Pike County as a whole.
