Goshen tops Pleasant Home 21-9

The Goshen Eagles (5-3) got back into the win column on Feb. 28 with a 21-9 win over the Pleasant Home Eagles on the road. 

The win marked Goshen’s fifth in the last six contests. The Eagles scored 10 runs in the first two innings and never looked back. Grant Taylor and Tyler McLendon both had big days at the plate for Goshen. Taylor went 2-for-2 with a double, three RBIs, two walks, six runs and three stolen bases, while McLendon went 3-for-5 with a double, two RBIs, four runs and three stolen bases. Grayson Hattaway also went 2-for-3 with two RBIs, four runs and two stolen bases, while JD Burney earned a double, two runs and two stolen bases. Parks Snyder scored three runs, as well.

Mason Adair pitched four and 1/3 innings and struck out three batters, while giving up four hits and four earned runs. Will Blackman pitched two and 2/3 innings and struck out a pair of batters, while giving up one hit and one earned run. McLendon also earned six putouts and a double play on defense, while Hattaway tallied five putouts and two double plays. 

For Pleasant Home, John Luke Colvin went 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs and one run. Andrew Clark and Jack Wiggins scored two runs each. Clark pitched four and 1/3 innings and struck out seven batters, while giving up eight hits and seven earned runs.
