Gas prices fall slightly across the state

Alabama remained one of the states with the lowest gas prices in the nation with the average price being 33-cents less than the national average. 

According to AAA Alabama, the average price per gallon for regular gasoline was $3.09 nationally and for the average in Alabama was $2.76. 

Prices reported in Troy remained higher than the state average. Gasbuddy.com’s price tracker only had four gas stations in Troy with reported prices this week. Prices ranged from $2.78 at Murphy USA to the high of $2.84 at Chevron. 

Reported prices on GasBuddy.com in Ozark ranged from $2.69 to $2.79; Luverne $2.85; Union Springs were $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.54 to $2.66; and Montgomery ranged from $2.42 to $2.59.

Last week, reported prices on GasBuddy.com in Troy ranged from $2.79 to $2.89; Ozark ranged from $2.70 to $2.79; Luverne ranged from $2.85 to $2.89; Union Springs were $2.89; Dothan ranged from $2.54 to $2.68; and Montgomery ranged from $2.47 to $2.64.

Nationally, Alabama had one of the lowest averages in the nation with $2.78. Prices in contiguous states were: Mississippi, $2.65; Tennessee, $2.75; Georgia, $2.93 and Florida, $3.06.
