Farm-City events planned

The 2025 Pike City Farm Committee is looking forward to the Farm-City events planned for year 2025 and to the 2025 projects that will be initiated and completed.

Abby Peters, Pike County Extension coordinator, said the Farm-City Committee has planned a busy slate of events beginning April 17 with the State Farm-City Luncheon in Auburn followed closely by the Spring 2025 Farm & Industry Tour.

In September, the committee will host 3rd Grade Farm Day and, in October, another main event, 5th Grade Classroom in the Forest and, also, Pumpkins Around the Square.

The Annual Farm-City Banquet is set in November follow in December by the completion of the committee’s ’s complete report and scrapbook.

The 2025 Farm City Projects include the Poster, Essay, and Media Contests that are all held in the fall, followed by the Farm City’s booth at the Pike County Shriners’ Annual County Fair.

Also in Fall 2025, the Pike County Farm City Committee will support local organizations with a library donation and by sponsoring community/school organizations.

The annual Job Swap is the highly-anticipated swap between a member of the farm community and ta member of the city community.

The Pike County Farm-City is looking forward to a busy calendar of events, with something for all ages and those from both the farming and city communities.
