OBITUARY: Hazel “Joany” Michel

Hazel “Joany” Michel of Troy, AL passed away Wednesday, February 26, 2025 at Baptist Medical Center South in Montgomery, AL. She was 69.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, February 28, 2025 at Zebulon Baptist Church with Minister Jimmy Helms officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Sandfield Cemetery with Skeen Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Skeen Funeral Home.

The family will also receive friends Friday at the church from 1:00 p.m. until time of service. She was born February 6, 1956 in Pike County to the late Harold Holmes and Mary Frances Edwards Holmes. She proudly served our country in the U.S. Army for 12 years.

In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her brother, Jessie “Man” Holmes and a grandson, Jimmy Lemke. She is survived by her son, Bo Campbell (Kasie); daughters, Peggy Powell and Penny Price; grandchildren, Alex Tillery, Harley Roberts, Victoria Massey, Megan Adams, Janet Campbell, Aubrey Campbell, Travis Campbell (Megan), Cody Campbell, Laken Campbell, Jocelyn Campbell, Whitney Bundy, and Karlie Mancilla, 17 great grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Gene Murphy, Janice Allen (Billy), and Debbie Norton (John). Serving as pallbearers will be Travis Campbell, Randy Norris, Billy Allen, Izaya Massey, Cody Tillery, and Sydney Johnson. Honorary pallbearer will be John Norton.
