Goshen Baseball wins third straight

The Goshen Eagles (3-2) won their third straight game on Wednesday, Feb. 26, with a 9-1 victory over Highland Home, to move above .500 on the season. 

Grant Taylor had another big game for the Eagles, both at the plate and on the mound. Offensively, he went 2-for-3 at the plate with a run, while he also pitched six innings and mowed down 11 batters. He also gave up just three hits and no earned runs. 

Tyler McLendon went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one RBI and one run, while Mason Adair and Parks Snyder scored two runs each. JD Burney also hit a triple. 

Will Blackman pitched one inning and gave up one hit and no runs. McLendon earned 11 putouts and one assist on defense. Logan Linton and Blackman turned a double play, as well. 

For Highland Home, Aiden Sampley went 2-for-4 at the plate, while Logan Frazier hit a double and scored one run. Tanner Sexton pitched two and 2/3 innings and retired six batters, while giving up three hits and no earned runs. 

Also on Tuesday, the Goshen Lady Eagles fell by a score of 18-3 to Class 5A Carroll in softball competition. Lacairia Scott and Kenna Senn scored one run each, while McQueen earned two RBIs and a run. Macie Mcaliley also hit a double. Scott pitched two innings and struck out one batter.
